In his solo music, performing under his given name Jesus Vio, he seeks to make contemporary musically diverse records, play with various collaborators, and commission a variety of artists for merchandise, music videos, and album art. His visual art practice consists of mixed media landscape paintings, sculpture, and performance art. He has always been writing poems to share and release at events or by selling physical copies of them as consistent means of staying creative.

Music:

You can currently listen to his music on Spotify, Bandcamp, iTunes and other listening platforms. Vio’s music genre and style is diverse, ranging from Hip-Hop, Punk, Electronica to Cumbia. While writing, producing and recording his own music at home, he sings and plays many of the instruments on his records and is accompanied by many collaborators in the United States and abroad via the internet.

Mixed Media Landscapes:

Using mixed media landscape as a metaphor for re-assembling the remaining bits of our anthropogenic landscapes the mixed media landscapes aim to hold space for the preservation and new construction of economic ecological and bio-diverse environments. By using a variety of mediums and repeating motifs, contemporary philosophical reflections of nature, and titles with themes of science this body of work aims to express a secular connection to the views we gaze up on and those in the cosmos and sub atomic world we could only imagine. Now that the global landscape is facing a moral division and identity crisis, the artworks seek to make ways for many unrecognized narratives or realities, that depart from seeing nature is vast and out of our control but rather connected to us and in need of our care.

Poetry:

Through random spurts in time, Vio will write, on average, a poem a day. He has been writing poetry as an important component of staying creative. So far he has released two poetry zines, “IYOICH” and “Hardy”. You can read IYOICH and Hardy on this website and watch videos that accompany them.
